maxill believes in transparency. Knowing what to anticipate with your IPAC services is crucial so you can plan your busy schedule without negatively impacting your client care. To maximize the quality of your IPAC visit, the following Q & A has been derived from the many inquiries maxill has on its IPAC services. Having clear expectations is a vital part of customer service.
Q: Will there be a confirmation call?
A: Expect a confirmation call from your IPAC Specialist 1-2 days prior to the set date and time. Should you need to change the date and/or time feel free to contact the IPAC specialist and determine another suitable date and time.
Q: Do I have to pay for the services in full?
A: maxill acknowledges the difficulties the pandemic has placed on dental offices. For this reason, we are extending a 6-month payment plan, so your office is not without the required compliance of having a completed IPAC assessment and manual.
Q: Will the IPAC Specialist require the entire team to attend?
A: This is up to the individual office to decide. The one person that must attend is the IPAC Leader of the practice. If there is no IPAC leader now is the time to appoint that position. Some offices like to use the IPAC session as training as well as assessing. Everyone’s voice matters, maxill wants to hear your questions from you and your team. Keeping in mind the larger the group the more time will be set aside. It would be recommended to have the entire team present as this will allow all team members to understand IPAC practices specific to their duties. Group participation also ensures all team members are on the same page. This can be communicated with the IPAC specialist and pre-planned to meet your teams needs and expectations.
Q: Do I need to prepare anything ahead of time for the visit?
A: The maxill IPAC Specialist will let you know if they require the checklist to be initiated with some basic baseline data. This involves very basic questions. A good example of such a question is does your office use an ultrasonic bath or an instrument washer or both?
Q: Will documentation be provided to confirm that my office is indeed IPAC Compliant?
A: maxill will provide you with a completed checklist after the review that encompasses the guidelines from Public Health Ontario, RCDSO and CDHO. All three governing bodies will be covered throughout the IPAC Checklist. Supportive documents are also distributed that include logs, signage, etc.
Q: Are the maxill IPAC Specialists knowledgeable and experienced?
A: maxill’s IPAC department is operated and managed by dental professionals who are still active in clinical practice as well as the educators, speakers and research platforms of dentistry. In having an IPAC Specialist who has also had to implement the exact same policies and procedures in their own practices, makes a world of difference in understanding your needs, your time-lines and the reality of clinical practice (they know the real struggles!!). Another important point to note, maxill’s IPAC department works in close relation with dental regulatory bodies and public health Ontario delivering evidence-based data that is up to date and meets the standards of practice.
Information collected during the on-site audit will be used to assemble a tailored IPAC manual outlining policies and procedures that are specific to your office. Once completed, a fully assembled written policies and procedures binder will be delivered by a maxill representative. A digital version will also be accessible through your maxill Online Account.
Information collected during the on-site audit pertaining to the products and equipment used in your office will be used to assemble a personalized MIFU library. Once completed, the MIFU library will be included in your manual. A digital library will also be accessible through your maxill online account.
A 6-month IPAC Platinum Membership is included with your IPAC 360. This includes a quarterly IPAC review, IPAC manual and MIFU updates, IPAC hotline and tech support, email alerts and a quarterly newsletter.
"To whom it may concern,
During the first shut down due to the pandemic. Nicol Ross traveled to our office in Courtice to complete IPAC in a box. This course involved Nicol going through every room starting at the front desk, to all of the operatories, and the storage room. Nicol spent the day at our office educating me on what we needed to change to be up to and above best practice standards. Thanks to Nicol when our office opened back up we were more then prepared to keep our patients and staff safe. I have been an assistant for more than 20 years but this course was so informative for me. A few months ago my boss decided to also do IPAC 360. This includes an office manual in which Nicol collects information and completes herself. This manual includes office procedures, MIFU's, all equipment and much more. There is no way I could have done anything close to what Nicol did for us. The manual is amazing and also includes a pandemic section. Nicol is very pleasant and extremely informative. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and we are very grateful for her help. If we need future changes we will definitely be calling Nicol.
"Our overall experience with Nicol and Maxill has been exceptional!
With so many guidelines to follow and ensuring the utmost safety for our staff and patients, it was overwhelming to think of putting everything together. Nicol is quick to answer any questions, and also has the literature to back up the answers. Nicol is full of energy and you can tell by her mannerism that she enjoys her position and makes it fun for everyone around her.
Our IPAC Checklist, Manual and MIFU are very well organized, easy to read and able to update whenever needed.
I would highly recommend using Maxill!
"After 8 years of putting off writing our office IPAC manual and being shut down due to the Pandemic, there was no excuse not to get it done. I spent an entire day on our manual, and only accomplished 8 pages… I decided it was time for help. I reached out to maxill and Nicol helped explain everything that needed to be done/was involved in writing an IPAC manual. With the pandemic limiting our ability to have Nicol come into the office for an on-site visit as she normally would, we arranged a virtual tour via video call of my clinic. We were able to gather all the information needed and after a few phone calls and some hard work from Nicol and her team I had my manual in hand and clinic operating above and beyond IPAC standards. The manual is very informative and well organized, and Nicol and her team were amazing, always available to answer my questions making the process as painless as possible. I would highly recommend using maxill for your IPAC needs.
Thank you, Sam"
