All disinfectants inactivate or destroy microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses or fungi using one or multiple modes of antimicrobial action. What differs from product-to-product is largely the method by which this microbial destruction occurs. This testing gives mycolio DISINFECTANT its mycobactericidal (or tuberculocidal) claim. A mycobactericidal claim is very important to look for when choosing a broad spectrum disinfectant. Due to their unique cellular structure, Mycobacteria are very resilient. They are among the most difficult types of microorganisms to kill and thus are the benchmark test organisms used by the CDC to meet and exceed the requirements of an intermediate level disinfectant.
