Course Description/Objectives:
  • Apply risk management critical thinking.
  • Review the uses of all 6 types of chemical indicators.
  • Understand the specifics to the Type II chemical indicator.
  • Establish the purpose and use of Process Challenging Devices (PCD).
  • State the difference between the three types of PCD’s.
  • Understand the function the maxill u‑BDS.
  • Establish when a Type II in a PCD must be used for daily use and sterilizer re-qualification.
  • Review the various types of sterilizers used in a dental office.
  • Realize a Type II in a PCD is for pre-vacuum sterilizers only.
  • Responsibility of the entire office.
