maxchek Backflow Prevention Valve - Complete Kit

The maxill maxchek complete kit contains everything you need to ensure your patients are protected from backflow. Each kit comes with your choice of 16 valves, 2 baskets (for cleaning/storage), and 2 bags of replacement diaphragms. Saliva ejectors sold separately.

These unique, one-way autoclavable valves prevent backflow from the saliva ejector into the patient’s mouth by closing off airflow when the suction is blocked or restricted. maxchek is inserted into the saliva ejector valve and holds the saliva ejector without affecting its performance.

maxchek provides a vast assortment of colours which allow your dental office to ‘colour code’ per operatory and/or procedure(s).

Say NO to backflow! Our valves were created with you in mind.
eco-conscious design
durably lightweight
convenient storage
undisturbed flow
fully autoclavable
colour coded
e-z to assemble

For easy maintenance, the aluminum valve and fram are disassembled prior to cleaning, both being fully autoclavable. The fram's are also effortlessly assembled and interchangeable.

maxchek is an essential element of every dental offices' IPAC Program. The Centre for Disease Control (CDC) reports backflow in low-volume suction lines can occur at three potential moments allowing microorganisms in the lines to be retracted into the patient's mouth:

  1. when a seal is created around the saliva ejector1
  2. when the suction cord is positioned above the patient's mouth1
  3. when both the LVE and HVE are 'on' simultaneously1

maxill has taken measures to ensure the product fits as best as possible with our saliva ejectors. While the fit is meant to be universal, some slight deviations in SE fit may occur. The best fit will be achieved when using maxill’s Saliva Ejectors

maxchek Backflow Prevention Valves fit best in saliva ejector valves with a rubber tip. The fit may vary in saliva ejector valves with a metal tip. maxill recommends using the maxchek ST Saliva Ejector Valve.

We encourage the use of maxill cleaning products with the maxcheck valves. Zymax products are an excellent option for cleaning these pieces. If you plan to use alternative cleaning products, please verify they won’t harm your maxcheck. Some cleaning products can cause fading.

Instructions For Use

Assembly: To assemble the maxchek backflow prevention valve, unscrew the valve and place the fram into the designated notch. Aligning the valve's peg with the fram's hinge will ensure a secure fit. Insert the slender end of the maxchek valve into your suction coupling and add your saliva ejector into the other end of the maxchek. It's that simple!

Change the maxchek for every client to further prevent cross-contamination.

Cleaning & Sterilization: For ultrasonic baths, disassemble the valve from the fram and position securely into the basket's slots (maximum fill of 16 valves). Frams are to be placed into the smaller basket, located on top and secured when lid is closed. Clean for 15-30 minutes. For instrument washer, follow the same instructions and position inside the washers basket and/or top rack. Inspect all parts of the maxcheck valve to ensure proper cleaning before packaging. For autoclaving, keep all three pieces disassembled and package in appropriate size pouch, and autoclave at 132°C (270°F) for 4 minutes.

FAQ

What is the care between patients? Clean, dry, package, sterilize between each client.
How often are the Frams replaced? Frams can be sterilized, therefore each client has a sterilized Fram. As with any dental devices, inspection is required on a regular basis to determine if the item requires disposal. If the Fram is broken, torn, and/or, can no longer be inserted into its designated slot, the Fram must then be disposed of and replaced.
